Then they "closed". Because, you know, mountains have opening hours now!
Ruth wanted to go to the beach so Lucy could have a swim. We agreed on Dollymount Strand over Killiney since Killiney is 28 minutes from my house and Dollymount is only like, 27!
Then we got lost. Mostly due to Ruth's driving and spontaneous detours.
Eventually, we ended up on North Bull Island. I don't really remember why, but it was nearby and it had a beach.
The weather took a turn for the worse just as we arrived with the rain pelting down and the sand ripping us to shreds. It really felt like the end of the world:

Once the rain and sand stopped it was pretty enjoyable. Lucy had a ball. These are the rest of the photos I took:
So that was the day, after which I was bullied into watching the X-factor... I preferred the barrage of sand and rain to be honest.

ReplyDeleteyou know i flew over bull island coming in on saturday - clear as a bell and not a soul on it and I thought it looked stunning. I've never been there, but it looks lovely - kind eerie from the sky.
